Product photography - Task 2

For task 2 we had to produce a minimum of two product images that relate to us as an individual. These can be in low or high key,  but must in some way reflect either a particular personal interest or a particular aspect of your own persona. I used my teddys as I've always loved collecting them since I was little.

Here are some of my images

I decided I would use these 3 images for this task.

Task 3 - Insecurity

For task 3 we had to produce a series of four images that relate to one of the following themes - Time, place, lost, found, insecurity, love or escape. They could be in any key and of any subject, however they must show one of the words and finally be printed. Here are some of the images for task 3, I used the word insecurity. Insecurity can mean many things, I used a mask to portray the idea that the person is insecure and hiding away.

However I decided that they looked better in black and white, so these four images are my final images that will be printed. To produce these images I used a black backdrop and a snoot, then I used adobe bridge and photoshop to edit.

Day Light Studio

A daylight studio is a photographic studio that is lit with natural light, usually by windows and skylights. These images where taken using natural day light. The settings on my camera to get these are ISO 100, F 22 and 3.2 seconds shutter speed.

Head Shots - Task 1

A head shot is a portrait where the focus of the photography is to capture the persons personality. Many jobs require a head shot with a CV when applying for. These jobs include theater, film, TV actors, models, singers and more. These head shots are usually more artistic as they try to portray the subject in the best lighting. Head shots that include a person's shoulders are called three quarter shots.

Task 1

For task 1 we were to produce three head shots of the same person. One high key, one mid key and one low key. These images had to each show an aspect of the person's personality and also fit in with the required lighting.

camera settings

Shutter speed - 1/125 sec

ISO - 100

F-Stop - 7.1

To get this image I used a white backdrop and 4 soft boxes. 2 small soft boxes pointing at the back to make it bright and 2 large soft boxes pointing at the subject. Here I think this image shows Desree's personality because she's giving a cheeky smile to the camera. I edited this on photoshop, I used the stop healing brush tool to remove any spots and then changed the levels slightly to make it a bit brighter.

camera settings

Shutter speed - 1/125 sec

ISO - 100

F-Stop - 7.1

In this image I still used a white background, however I used only the front two soft boxes.

camera settings

Shutter speed - 1/125 sec

ISO - 100

F-Stop - 8

In this image I used a black backdrop and only one soft box. I like how Desree looks like she is in deep thought in this image, it goes well with low key as she looks a bit sad.

Using Photoshop

First I used photoshop to  copy the right eye over to the left.
Here above is the original image, this is where you can see her left eye is a bit closed, to the right is my image where I fixed this.

On these images I changed the eye colour using this youtube video of a tutorial.
